Frequently Asked Questions
Questions specific to each game are at the bottom of its page. The ones below are about the site.
We do, by hand, in plain JavaScript. No game engine, no third-party library, no build step. The site's script fits in a single readable file.
Your decision on the cookie categories and, if you accepted the “preferences” category, your best scores and game settings. None of it leaves your browser.
All four games work exactly the same. It's just that no best score is kept from one visit to the next, and settings go back to their defaults.
Open “Manage my choices” at the bottom of any page and uncheck “Preferences”. Best scores and settings are erased on the spot.
We detect them and record them in your consent record. Since no optional category is on by default, a GPC signal changes nothing about what the site does today: there's nothing to turn off.
None today. If that were to change, the advertising disclosure page already describes the rules that would apply, and advertising cookies would remain conditional on your explicit consent.
Once the page has loaded, yes: nothing more is requested from the network. We don't install a service worker, so a full reload requires a connection.
Yes, all four games included. The accessibility page details the keys for each game, one by one, and also names what's still imperfect.
Yes, write to us. A useful bug report fits in three lines: what you did, what you expected, what happened.
The site is aimed at a U.S. audience. The privacy policy is written with U.S. federal and state privacy law in mind, including the CCPA/CPRA and COPPA.
Because it isn't drawn at random: it's computed from the date. The same date gives the same seed, the same seed gives the same puzzle, on any device. No network request is needed, and there's nothing to sync.
Completing the daily challenge in at least one of the four games. Completing all four on the same day doesn't count four times: the streak is measured in days, not games. It breaks if a whole day passes without a single success.
Because it gives away part of the answer. The hint stays available, the puzzle can be finished, and the game warns you: it's just that the result isn't recorded and the streak doesn't advance. In free play, it only blocks the best score.
You'll get the challenge for the date your device shows. Since nothing is verified server-side, there being no server, the streak is a commitment to yourself, not a ranking to defend.
